Today i started my computer folding at 8:30 in the morning and i looked at how many frames i had to go, it said 2280/5000, and went shopping and then took a load of tree branches to the tip, i return home to find its downloaded a new core, then i realised that it said:25/500
28s/frame
2929/500.

so is that wierd or wat cause it seem right to say its done 2929/500 frames and not finish the WU, if anyone knows wat it might be doin plz post away

It would be very helpful if you posted the relevant portion of your folding log file.

ok today i started folding and went away for about 4 hrs and came back to find that i have a new core different to the one i said earlier, this one has 10000 frames to do, its called: Protein: p2106_lambda_5way_melt_4_10011 and the one before was called: p2389_Protein_G which had 500 frames, the thing is it didnt finish all the work. In the log file it says: [19:53:23] Writing local files
[19:56:37] Completed 60000 out of 500000 steps (12)
[19:56:38] Extra SSE2 boost OK.
[20:45:50] Writing local files
[20:45:51] Completed 65000 out of 500000 steps (13)
[21:17:26] Gromacs cannot continue further.
[21:17:26] Going to send back what have done.
[21:17:26] logfile size: 57641
[21:17:26] - Writing 58177 bytes of core data to disk...
[21:17:26] ... Done.

so if that helps to explain y it didnt finish the WU plz let me know y it didnt finish. thnx in advance Garry88

I think it has something to do with the Gromacs core. I occasionally get that same message, but only on that core (and yes, my system is rock solid stable). My only suggestion is to shrug off those little glitches in the software.

I am glad I am not the only one with problems with the Gromacs. I have lost a few so I thought it was my OC. I turned up the v-core, guess now I can turn it back down.

It is a normal condition for the Gromacs core to "crash". It's not anything to do with your system. That particular "fold" you were working on hit it's theoretical end. Some of the WUs are supposed to crash on the Gromacs core, that is the desired result. You still get points for what you have completed, so no worries.
