Just so you know Syr (unless i completely misread what you said) all PSUs have the same mounting holes and there is a specific clearance area around the holes where switches/power plugs can't be put, so your original idea of having it built into the backpanel would actually work. However if you did that idea of the thing in the render above of having the metal plate, you could flip the PSU round if you wanted to.

I have never really taken note of the PSU mounting in my custom builds... I just took it one build at a time. One would think that I would have picked up on that by now. Perhaps I did, but I forgot the details.
In any case I think that using the PSU plate will be beneficial and make the build process easier and therefore faster.

Today I picked up the last of the acrylic for this project. If for some reason I need more I will use my own stock.
I also picked up a new Bosch 3/4" straight-bit which I will be using to fabricate the receiving portions of the drive bays. No charge to Fish on this as I needed it anyway for another concurrent project, and it will be used many times again in the future.
I get a thrill from new tools and such.
