Well it took me soooo damn long to read all the 54 pages but I'm so glad I did some great work going into what looks to be an awesome project Love the routing detail around the motherboard tray cuts, very tasty

I finished the sanding of the motherboard tray and started the initial polish.



Here is the general set-up for sanding panels. It is nice to have both hands free and to be able to move around the work at will:





This image shows the satin-finish on the lower profile, and the un-sanded finish on the upper profile:

Respiratory protection advised:





Polishing is done with a drill, a muslin buffing wheel, and the Dremel clamp-thingy. I use a Velcro strip to keep the trigger pulled:





This image shows a comparison between the initial polish and the satin-sheen of the final sanding stage:





Here you can see the imperfections and blemishes that the initial polish reveals. I will be going back and re-sanding areas such as these. I will to that tomorrow.




Now it is off for a drive around the Lake and some nice canyon-carving in my car.

Nice chair too!

I'll be finishing the Motherboard Tray tomorrow, and I will post some pics at that time.

Also, I will need to shave off 1/8" off the internal uprights in order to accommodate the thicker motherboard tray (blocking fans should they be installed on the inside face of the side panels). My intention is to shear off 1/16" from the top and the bottom. This alteration will not effect the bay device mounting rails....

....Fish, are there any other elements that you can think of that might be adversely effected by this change?

It is for eventualities such as these that I fabricate the back panels last.

I won't be ripping the interior uprights down until tomorrow or early in the week, so if you (or anyone for that matter) can think of any reason why this alteration might adversely effect the build, please feel free to speak up.
