Dual-core or Watercooling

Thread Starter
What do you think is a better buy for my rig?

Will current watercooling setups be compatable with AM2?
Should I get a dual-core opteron now while they are still around?

Dunno what(or even if i should) to get

Any suggestions? thanks

Current configs are going to differ from the M2!
The current FHS will not cross over and the Water will, if possible, require modification.

Not enough money to buy both

Any opinions on waiting or upgrading?

Well if you like Over Clocking more than having an awesome multitasker I'd go with WCing, and OC the beeejabbers out of your CPU--but if you want silky smooth multitasking for intensive porcessing tasks I'd go with the duallie

you have to ask yourself, do you need more power, if you do, get dual, if not stay with WC

So that means if i got a watercooling setup now, I would just need to replace my waterblock when I went to M2?

Depends on the block--I believe the Storm Universal is just that: universal--could be wrong...no harm in sending the mfr an email requesting specs regarding fitment to the cpus in question...Swiftech.com

I thought waterblocks were interchangeable? All you needed to match was the tubing going in and out of the block?

The word is the blocks mounting will need to be modded to work.... but no confirmation that all will in fact be moddable!
