I'm assuming you mean An Athlon 2 635....it would fit and work (AM3 chip), but the board is a bit overkill methinks. I'd suggest going with a more budget board (sub $100) that will have pretty much the same options. This board seems more geared toward a budget overclocker; it's more a lower high end board. From my experience it is a good board, but I have not tried overclocking much, although I did try to hit 3.8 Ghz on a C2 Ph2 965, and almost did it on stock voltage. I know the chip can do it on an MSI board, so this isn't a record breaker, but is still pretty good. Food for thought!

i dont trust sub 100$ motherboards anymore
my current jetway sucks
and my old asrock made me buy a 10$ 24-20 pin adaptor because of capacitors

I've never tried a Jetway board. I'm still on the fence about As(s)rock. But, those are usually cheaper brands. Gigabyte also makes less expensive boards. The only thing I would look for are VRM coolers. If those are present it will usually mean a better design.

I have a $49 Gigabyte board in my spare rig that's been OC'd to 4.0 for about 9 months now and hasn't had one problem.

if i was u guys on revision 1.0 i would flash that's basically the same as FD bios for Rev 2.0 boards

for whoever is already on F7 or F7c THIS IS STILL NEWER They didnt make a F8 but they renamed F7 again but fixed it i guess

Have you tried this bios with any results? Im using the older F7 im thinking of upgrading to this bios.

I will see how it goes, So far can only run my G.skill trident 2000mhz at 1750mhz at cas 11 only , But i can run them at 1680 at cas 7, Now thats really stuffed up.

For some reason rev 1 dont like anything above 1750mhz for ram with timings below cas10

I have the ram in the blue slots, i have tried the white slots with the older F7 bios

It seems now with this bios i have my ram stable at cas 8 1705mhz linx stable.

This bios added some new timing commands which with abit of tweaking seems to help with ocing these g.skill trident f3 2000mhz Elpida BBSE memory.

I will update with some screen shots, I had 328mhz stable with the old f7 bios. Cooling with a 1stage cascade 3/4hp.

But seems the new bios has helped with Ram stability.

I will try the white slots and see how far i can go compared to the blue.

Cheers for the hlep and great thread.

btw with AMD atm ram timings are better than speed

so for example u could try 1600 and see if u can go 5-5-5 timings or 6-6-6 timings with your ram that should be better than 1700 with 8 cas

the 2000 rams are usually used together with intel they benefit alot from speed

my ram is rated for 1600 7-8-7-24-2T but atm i am running 1420 7-7-7-20-1T and if possible i will try to get 1420 6-7-6-18-1T

So far with abit more tweaking, i've managed to get the ram stable at 1750mhz 7 8 7 21 2T, Or i can go 1312mhz 6 6 6 18 1t, i have tested both and it seems the 1750mhz is alot smoother with gaming, Or it might just be that ram divider is not liked by the mobo.

But i serioulsy thought 1312mhz at 6 6 6 18 1T would be alot quicker, when i run everest benchmarks 1750mhz at cas7 smashes it.

I have been playing with this ram for over 2 months now, and today is hte first day i have been able to play BC2 at anything over 1680mhz at cas7, It seems the new f7 which i thought was not a new one when i checked, until i read the comment on here about it being the same file name but it was a update, FFS giga**** are so ****** stupid, would of saved me all this ****** trouble 2 months ago if they had just renamed the file and not left it the same, I did not take note of the bios date, just the file name, and i always thought it was the same one.

Seems rev1 board is ok, but needs alot of tweaking, been in the oc game since the first p3's and this is the first rig which has taken me over 3 months to get stable.

Final result 328mhz 4.592ghz 1.65v, ram 1750mhz cas 7 8 7 21 2t 1.71v.
