Wow, my Duron is as crappy as I remember it :P

Thread Starter
Ok, so after MUCH screwing around (looking for old cables and parts, having a temperature problem because of a dead heastink fan, jamming an Intel heatsink fan on in it's place [lol], and non-starting because of accidental thermal grease misplacement) I finally got my Duron 700 MHz (320 SD RAM) up and running with Ubuntu, but man is this ever freakin' slow. Anyone give me any suggestions on how I can lower Ubuntu's toll on my system's resources?

You could try running something other than GNOME.
