I know im screwd i just want to know how much:

I was playing a game on my computer yesterday, when all of a sudden are power turned off for a half of a second then came back on, i checked my surg portector and i did NOT have to reset it, so i turned my computer back on, well instead of it booting up, and loading the bios and going to the ASUS screen, it booted up in a way i have never seen befor, now i cant remember what it said but there was a top line that said somthing about boot, a second line about the boot, and the third line was telling me error and somthing about a cd, so i turned my computer off and turned it on agin and it booted up fine. i know somthing in my computer is screwd i just want to know if i can save any parts and how do i test whats messed up and whats not and, or is the whole thing screwd?

The thing i dont get is why my surg protector didnt protect it?

Your Power surge protector doesnt have a high AC Suppression Joule Rating.

IMHO any thing under 2500 is inadiquit

If your prone to power outages look into uninteruptible power supply.

ouch, sorry to hear about that man. Has the computer been working ok since the restart? Also, I know some surgeprotectors guarantee that their product will protect your electronics and will give you back a certain amount if stuff breaks. At least, I know the one I bought says so on its package.

Not as much as you think Link

It may be worth the cost in the long run.
