Whoa USD$2000.00 for a gamming rig in a LAN cafe ...ummm a little on the oddd side of things.

As stated before why not set up a central server and gigabit LAN the user nodes.

I am sure for the individual stations (depends on the total users) you could construct them far cheaper.

ie:

CPU AMD ATHLON64 3700+ Sandiego USD$ 233.00...here
GPU and MOTHERBOARD combo eVGA 7800GT with nf4 SLI motherboard USD$359.00..here
RAM G.SKILL 2 x 1Gb F13200PHU2-2GBZX..USD$194.00..here
PSU SUNBEAM NUUO SUNNU550-US-SV 550W SLi USD$83.50..here
CASE COOLERMASTER CENTURION5 black USD$45.00..here

This is a total off USD$914.50 and is just an example. for arguments sake.

plus keyboard and mouse and monitor(go for large CRT)

cheers

Ya IMO you would definitely do better to spend half as much and upgrade them more often if anything. Also, it would be better to spend less on each station and spend more on your network itself, ie. better servers & switches

CPU - AMD 3200+ 169 USD

VGA - eVGA 7800GT 270 USD

Ram - Corsair 2x512MB 75 USD

Case - Antec SLK3000 50 USD

HD - WD 250GB SATA 3.0Gb/s 95 USD

Optical - NEC 3550A 38 USD

PSU - Cooler Master RS-450 78 USD

LCD - Acer Black 8ms LCD 212 USD

Keyboard / Mouse - Microsoft Black OEM combo 42 USD

Total: $1,112.96

i rounded up on the prices above, but this is the total in the shopping cart. i did this in a rush, so not sure if i left anything out. some choices i went from personal experience, and others i just went with a high rating coupled with a low price. for the purpose of saving time i just went to one place, i'm sure you can get some items for a lower price elsewhere.

if you want to spend more, (dunnow why), get more ram, or a better LCD.
That CPU can't take full advantage of that GPU. make it a 3000+ and 6800 combo.
