Learn something new with it. By that I'm talking about VMware, Hyper-V, Linux, etc... something that you're unfamiliar with.

They're are amongst the quietest enterprise servers - but I think your use of the word 'relatively' sums it up well.  In a DC they're inaudible, especially compared to a high density blade enclosure for example, but in a home environment they're still way too loud for my taste at least.

All of the 11th and 12th generation Dell Poweredge's are very quiet, with the likely exception of the 4-CPU offerings (820, 910, 815, etc.). At moderate load, a T420 (for example) is barely louder than an Optiplex 7010.

I'd love to have a chance to own something like that, if it's too loud, then just replace the fans, it's useful to learn new things with it thumb.gif
