To be honest, using expensive media for backup is a horrible idea. If the point of that drive is backup, then use cheaper media, like a 1T drive. If the server is in colo, then you would be limited to your bandwidth between your home and the colo, so what is your ISP speed? 25 mbit? Even 100 mbit is only 11.4 MBps. Any modern sata drive can fulfill that stream. A revo drive is a great boot drive or database drive, but not backup. I'm also a backup fiend, at work with a 195 tape library, full of LTO5 tapes (or 585 TB compressed on tape). We restore everything from tape, and there is no reason we can't wait the 90 seconds for a tape to mount.
