Alot of it is mess from previous person that did it. cant get the time to redo it all as i'd have to do it when the building is closed and no one is about (so after 9pm) and then make sure certain cables plug in exactly same place due to them being patched phonelines

I think I'll post info on the servers I work with at the data center. I can't actually post pics or tell you the name of the company because I would be violating any number of NDAs so take this for whatever it's worth:

72 gigs of memory
1TB x24 hard drives (OS mirrored, data drives mirrored in pairs, one hot spare)
All running 10 Xen VMs (on CentOS)
1Gbps network (using Cat6, of course)
Dual Xeon CPUs at least Quad core each
3Ware Raid controller (worth at least $700 ea.)

Tempertures for the CPUs seem to be 60 - 70c

Mainly either Pogo or Aberdeen as the OEMs (I'm pretty sure I can say that at least)

The servers all look something like this:

The company I work for is quite a large customer so there might be some custom specs on the hardware and inside design, I'm not sure. I'm almost positive I remember someone saying something about that. It wouldn't surprise me at least. Maybe I'll eventually post the specs to my personal server.

OS: Ubuntu Server 10.4 LTS
Case: Apex MI-100
CPU: Intel Atom D510, 2 Cores, 4 Threads @ 1.66GHz
Motherboard: Intel D510MO
Cooling: Single 120mm Silenx case fan
Memory: 2GB DDR2-800
PSU: Case PSU
OS HDD: 320GB SATA 7200rpm drive
Storage HDD: 500GB SATA 7200rpm drive

What you use it for: File server, media server, *nix test platform, shell accounts for friends, torrent box, minecraft server

I'm thinking about dropping in a 64GB SSD for an OS drive, and upgrading RAM to 4GB.

Thats a nice little server there. IMO i wouldnt put a SSD in a server, as for the ram that would be fine because i hear a minecraft server uses a bunch of ram depending how many ppl are connected.
