Post Your Server!!! - Page 46

Super Micro Dual Core Atom 330 server, runs 24/7 and only uses 30watts. Used as a Media, File, FTP, VPN, Game, etc server. Also sometimes use it as a VM server (nothing to heavy though) as well. running windows home server 2011 with only 2gb of ram. System shows no signs of slow downs so will continue to use till 22nm atoms comes out and will replace with that, hopefully they will make a quad core atom biggrin.gif

Not too tough if you run pfSense, you simply enable it along with cache mgmt. It is really nice having network cache like this, really speeds up overall web browsing.

I know what Squid cache does - a mate of mine showed me once - loved it & wanted it since, but alas, me is too stoopid biggrin.gif

I had it for a while on one of my old PCs was great, Might look into seeing if i can run it on Solaris, would be great.

Here is my seedbox biggrin.gif

Pentium 3 933MHz
Intel Mobo
512MB PC133
80GB Maxtor ATA133
GeForce2 MX400 32MB
P.O.S. PowerMan 350W PSU

This thing is a little beast tongue.gif It seeds so many torrents that it's close to 75% usage all the time...Sometimes it uploads 15GB a day, most of the torrents are Linux Distro's. I like this this thing cause it has the fastest CPU it can support and the most RAM it can support wink.gif

Yeah I love keeping old stuff in service biggrin.gif Everything except the HDD and PSU were manufactured in 2000

Well, if it does what you need it to, then why not.

I have an old socket 370 coppermine in my garage for surfing the internet in there (like finding details when working on a car and such).
