It has some impressive hardware, shame it's kind of old. The storage card is amazing. I think it's a PERC 4. This is a hardware raid 0 array i made when I was messing about with it.

That's not it's final resting place. It's going to work when i'm done configuring it. Also planning to add more RAM before it becomes impossible to find.

Thanks. That was my first thought too. The raid card with 512MB of RAM really helps though. Unfortunately it's going to waste seeing as how it'll only host 2 databases. The rest will be photos and office documents. As well as the active directory stuff too.

Actually, you can find PERC5i cards for around >$50, PERC6i for >$100, but the cards people really like are the M1015 (LSI 9240) ~$120, Dell H200 (LSI 9240) ~$100 or less. If you want cache and BBU, then the M5014 or M5015 ~ $200. Any of the LSI 9240 rebadged cards can be used with the Intel RES2SV240 and have 20 ports. They run around $250, so with a M1015 you would be looking at $350-$400.
