Typical. Why fix what isn't broken, and why invest in IT since they aren't revenue generating. Deal with that crap at all my clients...they have no idea how much time, and money could be saved by upgrades such as going gigabit.

Yea thats true, luckily where i work moved offices before i needed to rewire half the old office to allow us to have more ports. im having trouble of "it works" here when it comes to our ancient servers we use.....with no high availility or redundancy

IMO VPS should only count if you have customized it in some special way or are leasing dedicated hardware.

CPU: Intel X3430 Quad core
RAM: 16GB Kingston EEC Registered 1066Mhz Upgrading to 32GB for RAM caching of RAID Array
Dual Ceton InfiniTV 4, 8 tuners
Adaptec 3405 running 6 TB RAID 10
240GB OCZ Agility 3 VM Drive for WHS 2011
120GB OCZ Agility 3 OS Boot Drive
Cooling: Corsair H70
HDD: WD Green 2TB EARS x2, Samsung 1TB, WD Black 640GB
I run Bitcasa for off site back up of my over 4TB media collection. I use Server 2008 to host WHS 2011 in Hyper-v and I am also going to add Windows 7 Home Premium for Media center extender support I have eliminated all cable boxes from my house, except the one I get free and I don't use it. I use the ceton's to stream live TV thru out the house. Other than that I am learning and adding new services all the time. I'm looking into Surveillance DVR Services.
