Antec TruePower 2.0 550W-DFI LP nF4

Ok, I posted this in the AMD motherboard forum. Everyone just told me to get the 520W OCZ but I don't want to go out nad get a new PSU after being told the TP II would do fine with the DFI LP Mobo. the problem I have now is that the 12v 4pin connector to the right of the 24 pin connection on the mobo is not included on the PSU. Is there a converter I can get at stores that will fix this for me or am I just going to A: have to deal or B: go out and spend another but-load on another PSU.

I have seen two FAQ's in the past two days that had the Antec truepower II on the list of compatable PSU so, I don't think there will be much of a problem. What yall think.

Thanks much. The only real problem I have left now is that dang 4pin socket then that comp in my profile is (or should ) be up and running.

Thanks much all!

hmm ok

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Showim...board+-+Retail

In that picture, if you look at the bottem right above the 24 pin connecter there is a female 12v 4 pin socket. I don't have a male 12v 4pin (no 4 pin at all) comming off my PSU so, do you think there is somthing that can convert from a female 4,6, or 8pin to the male 4 pin. I think thats what I wana say

It works. The little 4 pin popped off the side. I went and bought a 20 to 24 pin thing too...and now I just tried turning it on. The fan turns on for a split second then stops. I see the HDD light light up and then it doesnt do anything....Ima switch out some ram and see what that does now...

Hi Elyaas,

Maybe this vendor has what you need. I've purchased from them before and they are good.
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ndex&cPath=186

They are located in Palm Bay, Florida. Phone number (321) 725-9969

I hope this helped, :-)

if I understand you correctly (not sure if I am though...) you're talking about the 12v atx power plug.

the mobo has 2 power connectors 1) the 24pin ATX main psu plug and 2) the 12v 4pin atx cpu power plug.

Alright, a couple things here... all psus will have the 12v 4pin plug, even ones that are a few years old... so your psu has the connector you need and if it doesn't then it's defective.
second, you CANNOT disconnect the extra 4pins from your 20+4 pin main atx power connector and plug it into your 12v cpu plug. the two plugs are not compatable!

here are the specs for your psu:
http://www.antec.com/specs/TPII550_spe.html#

if you click on the special connectors it will show you pics
click on the atx 12v link and it will show you the connector that you need to plug into the 4pin female connector on your mobo

To recap Once you pop the 4 pin off the side, you plug in the 20 pin connector. The 4pin u popped off is then unused. There is another 4 pin connector from the PSU that gets plugged into the motherboard, and without the right 4pin connector connected you'll get a power light on the motherboard, but the board will fail to post correctly.
