Welcome to the forums.

If you have an Intel brand motherboard, unfortunately, you won't be able to overclock through the BIOS as Intel locks out all of the options which make overclocking possible. There are several software overclocking programs, and they can accomplish limited overclocking if you can find one that's fully compatible with your motherboard. On the other hand, if you just have a motherboard for an Intel CPU, you have hope.

Please post your system specs through your User CP. A link is provided in my sig. That will better help us help you.

You can use: Those are the programs I know of.

To check the exact model number of your motherboard, go here and download the program and go to the MainBoard tab:

You have a great overclocking CPU, but your board is the weak link. Your 2.8 is capable of hitting at least 3.5 with a bios overclock, but im gonna bet you wont get much past 3.0 with software.
