PS3 Could Cost $900!! - Page 8

since this topic has been derailed i guess I should throw in my two cents...

in terms of trends of history.. its usually America or some other strong engineering country like germany who usually develop technology first, and then by trend it is usually seen that the asians make them more efficient.

But anyways... If Japan is the most technologically superior country why are they still one little country. Do you even know anything about the history of Japan and that they where still in a fuedal system when admiral perry bombed the side of their mountains in a display of power?

Just because japan holds alot of hardware industries, it doesn't really mean they are the most technologically advanced. American health care is the best by far, I dont even want to get into our military, because they have stuff that we wont even think of for 10 years.

Japan's market is also completely different than the US. Considering the space issues, no body owns land there so they have other things to spend money on.

and as for the optical internet, would you want to lay all those cables to homes to offer that kind of service? Think of population and landmass.

and for space travel you are forgetting about the numerous satellites that revolve around each planet in our solar system, several of them infact could possibly be inhabitable.

So if little handheld gizmo's and intelligent toilets determines how technologically advanced a country is, then by all means say that Japan is up there.

and as for an army, what army does Japan have? Im not sure on where we are at right now with Japan but I am pretty sure that japan's army was limited and observed by America.

And Jori you also have to remember that they do live in a post apocalyptic society, and interms of education, their system is flawed and based still on a cast system that is determined mostly by test scores. So all that dilligence really doesn't reward pure genious in any way.

You could be a complete idiot, but if you score high enough on an exam you can get accepted to Tokyo University.

Where do you get this from? I don't think I stated any where that I like war.

So i guess you can make the same stereotypical assumption and state that everyone who likes to play CSS also really likes terrorist crimes?

did u not read this? In August 1995, the calculation of pi up to 4,294,960,000 decimal digits
was succeeded by using a supercomputer at the University of Tokyo. The
program was written by D.Takahashi and he collaborated with Dr. Y.Kanada
at the computer center, the University of Tokyo. This record should be
the current world record.
Really, what is more relevant? Figuring out PI to an unnecessary number of digits just to say that you did it, or mapping the human genome so that you can find a cure for cancer and many other illnesses?
