I booted for the first time....

post #1 of 8
Thread Starter
Now my question.. (probably should of asked this hours ago..) but... what next?? Do I install Windows 7 then the chipset drivers?? Or do I install an updated bios?? When it booted, it gave me the option to go into the gigabyte options...I let it go then of course it looked for an operating system but failed to find it and wanted me to boot from a disk... I am thinking I should boot from the disk..install Windows 7..then the chipset drivers.. then update the bios..... again... thanks to everyone...

You are right! Except I am not sure if updating the bios is needed in your case.

You've got it right on

Though, I'd go more like Se7en -> Chipset -> Video -> BIOS.

Usually you'd think that mobo's would come with the newest BIOS, but it seems they often don't. Worth updating.

Do the OS first, then chipset and video. If you don't have problems with BIOS theres really no need to update it but I always like to have it updated asap.

Install OS > Chipset Drivers + NIC Driver > Update BIOS > OS Update
This way has been the easiest formula to install that I use.
