the 3700 is clocked at 2.2 ghz and has a 1mb L2 cache...teh 3800 is clocked at 2.4 ghz but has a 512kb L2 cahche ...people will tend to buy the 3700 because of teh cache and then tehy overclock it way high so basically if it was clocked the same as teh 3800 tehn it would be way faster, teh 3700 wins

The 3700+ has a slower clock speed of 2.2 ghz versus a 2.4 with the 3800+, but the 3700+ has a larger l2 cache of 1mb whereas the other only has 512. They also are different cores with the 3700+ being a San Diego the 3800+ a Venice.

Are you talking about the X2 3800? I don't have much experience with the single core, but the X2 is dual core, and the 3700+ San Diego overclocks like crazy. 3700+ tends to be better for gaming, because no games are optimized for Dual Cores yet.

very true. but when games start taking advantage of dual core (multitasking in gaming) then the dual core is a better pick for future

but in single core 3700 beats 3800, has more cache so you can oc it more
