Uh oh, EK Supreme HF and 1/2 ID compression fittings...

Hey everyone,

I put my EK Supreme HF block on tonight, tried screwing in the compression fittings, bitspower 1/2 ID 3/4 OD, and it seems they are too big to both screw on without issues. I am including a picture with this too so you can all see. I bought 16 of the 1/2 ID 3/4 OD fittings from frozen cpu before I purchased the EK block.

My question is what has everyone else used, as far as compression fittings, with the EK block? would 3/8 ID compression fittings work? If so... I'm out some money and need to try to sell(or possibly exchange) these fittings for some 3/8 fittings. Let me know what works!

Hey Kobalt,

Thanks for the quick reply... as long as the 3/8 are known to fit I think I'll just go with those... I wanted orange tubing anyways and it doesn't seem it comes in 1/2 in. XD

Can anyone else confirm that 3/8 will fit the EK and that the 1/2 is confirmed to NOT fit.

Note that in my experience with Bitspower 45s, they do not have any measurable affect whatsoever on pressure or flow. With that in mind, I see no reason to be reluctant to use them.

Hey man, I have had same problem before. You can also use one of these to snake up over the other fitting. These guys are full adjustable, you can chagne the angle however way works best. This way you can still use the 1/2OD fiting you have

I have a nickel EK HF block and 3/8 Inch, 1/4inch thread compression fittings will fit. (I tested using the phobya ones.)

I did exactly the same thing brought a lot 1/2 X 3/4 compression fitting and it doesn't fit. http://www.overclock.net/water-cooli...ercooling.html. Just like what they said buy the 45 degree rotary for it. If you want me put a picture of mine I can do that, since I haven't had time to assemble my setup yet.

This was in the thread referenced. So maybe you can contact EK to see if you get that block replaced with a new revision. Though a rotary 45 is an easier solution.
