my computer is an emachines t6216
and the bios is american megatrends
processor is amd athlon 3200+ 2.0 ghz
i cant find the fsb speed anywhere

What we need to know if your entire system...
The USER CP link @ top of page for access to system specs.
Knowing the MB will be very usefull.... some do not have the option you seak.

mobo is msi ms-7207
chipset is nvidia nforce 410/430

and is there a way i can change it from in windows, so far none of the programs i found support my configuration

short answer: Not at all

There are some programs out there that support software overclocking but in most prebuilt machines like yourself, the overclocking features are disabled. Things like (clockgen) and (cpufsb) can alter your settings,but by very little.

What happens is that big computer companies lock their bios settings to the very minimum so you buy another one in a few monthes instead of making yours faster. In order to unlock these settings youd have to flash a new bios into the actual bios chip and do a little tweaking, but it wouldnt be worth the trouble.

your pretty much stuck with what you have now... but if you really wanna OC, we can help u find a new motherboard within your pricerange that will allow you to overclock...

ok, im using clockgen, and its helping a teeny tiny bit, do you guys know any program i can use to monitor my cpu temp and mobo temp?

also i dont have a job right now, so a new mobo is out of the question to til i get a job, but ill be sure and come here after i get a job

oh, and i tried crankin it up too far at first, (dont know *** i was thinkin), instead of takin baby steps, and my computer went blank, i had to restart it and it said windows had a serious error, so i sent the error report
