can i break my southbridge cool???
Well... Lets face it your craftsmanship skills aren't quite up there yet to be making your own fully functioning waterblock. Just listen to us, we know what we are talking about. Your just wasting your time, and effort, and possibally your whole computer.
edit: you can use AS5 adhesive, not just the paste, the paste is too inert, the heatsink will just fall off since regular AS5 has no adhesive properties. And if you mess up with AS5 thermal adhesive, you screwed son, because it's never coming off if you make a mistake, and want to reposition, because its glued on there, forever.

True, hes pretty far ahead of all the other 11 year olds, but I'm just trying to help him avoid disaster!

Sounds like a great idea to me.
I thought you meant use AS5 on the SB heatsink. But yes, you can use AS5 on northbridges.

Nope, unless your motherboard has mounting holes for a southbridge heatsink, like some LGA775 motherboards have.
