Hello - have some questions on upgrading - Page 4

Looks like Im a little late to this party but why are you getting ANOTHER AGP board if you want a new graphics card anyways? Go straight to PCIe, AGP 8x is not that much faster than AGP 4x (I mean in real world terms) just get a PCIe mobo and if you really only want to spend that much money, then a PCIe 6600GT (though I reccomend a 6800GS/GT or better)

I know, I'm probably NOT going to buy anything further to enhance this system, besides cooling and possibly ram, and I know, PCIe seems incredible as far as the 3dmark scores are concerned. It's just not in the budget to make a full system upgrade at this time. (I'd need a new board, new chip, new ram and new vid card) Maybe after the summer.

I dunno.....I like mine ok......dropped my idle temps about 8 degrees and dropped my load temps about 10 degrees (without AS5, just the crap that came with it, so those are ALL thanks to the heatsink)

And to be fair, the Big Typhoon wouldn't fit in my case I don't think........unless I cut a hole in the side panel to allow the fan to pull air LOL
