Area 51 - Update 4 - Cutting out windows and the first couple coats of paint.
I know I haven't updated in a while, and that is mostly because I haven't had a camera to update with. My camera broke and I have been waiting for my Mother's camera to be available. So here is a little update.
Remember that ram cooler I was making before? Well the design has been revamped:
I am making it out of aluminum L channel.
I cut it into 2 strips and cut holes for the fans to be screwed into
This is what it will look like on the fans
I also added some windows into my side panel
I cut them with my orange jigsaw
Another thing I did was cut out my hard drive cages to make room for some fans.
I added this window into the left side panel instead of the mesh. You may have noticed that I cut two windows into my side panel.
This is what I am making the windows out of. I got this peice of acrylic at lowes for $8 and it is quite large.
I also started painting the plastic shell satin black. So far it has gone well and I have gotten a few coats on there. I still need to get some 1000 and 2000 grit sandpaper to clean up the paint.
Here are all of the tools I have used so far. The jigsaw and drill are beyond old and were bought at garage sales.
Also thought I should throw in my beautiful scenery that I work in.
I hope you like my progress. There is definitely more to come.Edited by spRICE - 1/5/11 at 7:52pm
