Thanks a lot guys thumb.gif

And here is a small but important update:

Area 51 - Update - Fan Sleeving
It's finally time to get some work done on this mod devil.gif
You saw my sleeving stuff in the last post, so now let's put it to good use.

DSC_0038.jpg

What is wood doing in a sleeving update?

DSC_0044.jpg

After some cutting I had this:
DSC_0045.jpg

Here is what it is for:
DSC_0048.jpg
DSC_0049.jpg

It allows me to uniformly cut my heatshrink. I first saw this idea on one of oliverw92's worklogs. It's genius!

First fan sleeved

And here are all of the fans for the build sleeved:

I think I did pretty well for sleeving for the first time. Special thanks to Lutro0 for his paracord sleeving guide!

Looking good, great to see some progress finally!

I would advise that you bridge the 3pin headers and the sleeving with heatshrink though.

Thanks biggrin.gif And yeah it feels nice to be working on this again. I might do that with the heatshrink, but it might conflict with where the fans plug in behind the 5.25 bays because there is very little clearance back there.

Wow that's a lot of effort to get uniform size heat shrink cuts but I guess the sign of a quality build is when the builder puts a lot of effort into even the seemingly small details thumb.gif

So I must've missed something, I see an evga board in the pics up top but your sig says it's an AMD build. Which cpu do you have? 955, 965 etc.. What are your settings to get it stable at 4.2 and what are your temps?

Old mod is old... but still freaking awesome. I was like you back on the days when computer builders were "awesome":

But yeah, with age comes wisdom. Though age does never wash away everything.

Wish i could get my hands on an alienware case as well, just for the friggin awesome look.

Totally subbed. Dying to see the cable management and anything else you plan to do with it.
