I got that thing from Ebay i while back... It is pretty sweet, but what sucks is that in the 0905 BETA bios, there were some fixes for the bugs with this board, but in the final version they backed them out?!?! So... long story short, it is very awesome device, but hard to find, and the guys that do have them are selling it for like $175 or something crazy... At that price I do not think it is worth it, but if you can find one on the cheap then go for it!

Phobos223, thanks for your response. I'm still thinking if it is worth the $$ to upgrade from my Phenom II. Do you consider it a worthy upgrade?

It's hard to say bro... You deifintely have to be willing to shell out the extra $$ for the ROG boards... I am very happy with mine though. All the extra features and tweaks are really nice, and with upcoming Bulldozer support it's defintely worth looking into. Just depends on if you wanna drop $200 for a MB or not... I know the Biostar 890FX (only like $140ish) board is really good though, as well as the MSI and Gigabyte boards. I myself have always been an ASUS man, always been happy with their stuff!

Another need thing about hte ROG boards is the ROG connect.; I ahve not used it mucho n this setup, but it is really cool. Basically what you can do is connect a laptop or antoher computer to the motherboard, and tune the bios directly from the other computer which is really nice when playing with voltages and such as you don;t have to reboot everytime

Gigabyte has a similar thing called Cloud OC.

Well I got the final peice of the puzzle tonight... Picked up a brand new Asus 5870 V2 from fellow OCN brother, and just got home to slap it in!

.. what sucks is that is was nearly 110F here today and my damn AC went out! So ya it's a steamy one but you know I gotta try this card out!

So here was the first run in vantage with a random overclock

The online result browser is all messed up but from what I can tell this aint to bad for a single 5870... I really have no idea though as I am coming from a 8800GTS :-/ So let me know what you think... I'm gonna baseline here and see what I can do with some more juice

So looks like I will be getting that second loop setup up next week! This card needs it.. at full blast it sounds like those old Delta 80mm fans that would hover off your table

2nd run... took it up a notch on the CPU to 4.15ish and the GPU to 980 and cracked 20K... This card seems to OC nicely with just CCC and stock volts... This thing should go well over 1Ghz hopefully! Will be interesting to see what happens with the water block (besides the typhoon sound from the stock cooler)

Now I need to get those MSI tools everyone is using...

Once it's under water, you can pump voltage and easily reach 1100+ on the core.

And here's the tool MSI Afterburner you want.
