No problem dude, was fun trying it out! What we should do is you should send me that program that you are running, or just give prime95 a run for like 30 and see what you get!
When I was running the tests, my house was hot, thermostat was at 82 when i got home AC was not running while I was at work for some reason :-/ so it was nasty in here... 100F in StL this week
So when I said ambient was hot, i was down to my boxers and a wife beater lol
Couple things... I wonder if the fans I got (1800RPM) are kind of in the middle performance wise for this GTX rad that is known to like higher pressure fans? Wonder how much pull or a push-pull config would yield or what a shroud would do?
Also for the NB temps, something to definitely consider is that you are running yours stock @ 2000Mhz, while mine was up to 2700 to get the CPU speed up since I don't have unlocked multi... that's a 35% OC, naturally gonna create more heat all around. The higher bus means higher NB volts, as well as the NB/CPU volts which are on the CPU die. You should try that on yours, instead of Multi, go with 14x272 and see what temps you get then. That would be even comparison for you to make your decision! I am actually really curious about how your air would do with those specs on 30-45min prime run...
Oh, and this baby runs damn near dead silent on an open bench.. loudest fan is the power supply
I know how you wanna cut down on the noise over there and allEdited by Phobos223 - 7/15/10 at 11:17pm
