AM2-FX62 -> June 6th!

post #1 of 22

if you look at my specs you will see im building my first computer. While I was looking for what processor to buy I came across this link...
http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=29718
as of now im thinking FX-57, or FX-60 since the future points to dual core processors, including gaming. My question is....when the FX62 comes out, what will the FX-60 go for? there has to be a price break! Right? anyone want to take a guess? i cant wait that long to buy a CPU...I might have to make a decision before the price comes down

Not much lower then it is now. It will still be the fastest S939 CPU available. I'd say 950-1100 dollars. More of an upgrade for people with sick systems that don't want to upgrade their 200 dollar motherboard.

I think we can expect some pretty crazy overclocks compared to 939 from AM2. Who knows how much the cores have been tweaked.

Man I don't know if I can wait that long for a new build. Maybe I'll just do what klnospicy said and wait.
