Can something be wrong with this overclock with 3700+?

Thread Starter
i have a 3700 + san diego with the fan and heatsink it came with and the same thermal pad.i have cheap patriot 1 gigabyte ram
i got it to 3010Mhz with 9 multiplier, 333 fsb, 3x htt and 200 for the ram
1.55 for vcore and 1.9 for ram
the temps are 27 idle and 48 max at load. Can something be wrong prime 95 works fine until i go passed 3.1Ghz.
i dont want the computer to shut down alot
is it safe at this
maybe the temp reading is wrong?
i am using linux if that makes a difference
this is my first time overclocking

with stock cooling and generic RAM I think you should just be happy with 3.1ghz, that is a very nice OC.

Nice OC If your max. temp is below 50 deg and everything is stable then it should be OK. Try some other test programs like SuperPI as well, and maybe some movie encoding or heavy gaming. Next thing should be to get better RAM and tweak the most out of it. This will affect performance a lot. I would also go for some better heat past, like Artic Silver 5 or similar. Cheap upgrade.
