Check the XFX GeForce 6600 DDR2.
It was specially released by Nvidia in response to ATI's Radeon 1300.
For more info check this article.

As competition for ATI's X1300, this does extremely well. The card beats it in most benchmarks and overclocks well out of reach of the top model 1300. Nvidia have a very solid product with the 6600 DDR2, and XFX just makes the deal a little sweeter.
Quote:
This little 6600 definitely gave us what we deserve though, as we reached 6600 GT speeds on the core - our card topped out at exactly 500 MHz! Everything was completely stable at this speed, and the chips cooler was just barely warm. We managed a still impressive 102 MHz overclock on the memory, but this is still 98 MHz short of 6600 GT speeds. Regardless, the fact that this card was able to reach near GT spec while still remaining cool and stable is amazing.

I don't know what you would be paying for a X1300pro over there but here a 6600Gt can be had for AUD$200.00.

The X1300pro goes for the AUD$180 to 210 mark.

The 6600GT will walk all over the 6600 GDDR2 in performance terms.

cheers

Yes we too here in Australia pay far to much for hardware when compared to the USA.

Maybe you could contact ncsa on this forum as he is in Thailand and would be able to guide you to some good sites your way.

cheers

The SLI connector is used with GeForce 6600GT and above.
The plain 6600 is not SLI ready.
Just check the price difference between a 6600 DDR and a 6600 DDR2 before you buy anything.
If you decide to go for the 6600 DDR2 just make sure you get one that has a 128 bits memory interface because it also comes with a memory interface of 64 bits (and you don't want that) !
