Q9400 at 4.001 GHz? - Page 3

Yeah, I had an extremely hard time with this chip. It didn't like anything past 3.6 for me. Temps were ok though. Also my ram didn't like being oc'd that much in order to achieve even 3.8. But you should be very happy with 3.8.

This is very interesting. Can you please release your fsb settings, volts and etc? I know our motherboards are different but i have much chance hitting 4ghz cuz i have a diff motherboard than you do and i can do a Pencil Mod which makes volts stable. I have the exact processor as you do. I always wanted to hit 4ghz but i never had a good cooler for awhile now i'm running water cooled. I'm gonna try and maybe see how i can hit 4GHZ but i would have to get info on settings from you or anyone. I already posted a thread in our threads based on our motherboards cuz it works differently.

This is for people with similar chips, i hope it gives you a rough idea of what i've got and hopefully gives you a nice OC

No 4ghz?!?!!?
U can still loosen those ram timings to achieve higher OC on ur ram.

OP, if you want to verify it is the FSB/NB/RAM and not the CPU, drop the CPU multi to the lowest setting (x6) and test again. If Prime passes, the above are stable at 500 FSB. If it is not stable then your FSB/NB/RAM are unstable.
