Need Advice on getting upgraded Memory

Guys,

I have a A-Bit mother board which supports DDR 500 184 non EEC Un buffered memory and i have 4 slots available.

I am currently overclocking from 200 x 11 to 246 x 11 on an Athleon 4400 + and my 2 x DDR 400 memory that i have currently is running at DDR 333 as it will not run at the DDR 400 speed with my over clocked FSB as it would then rhave to run at 468 mhz.

My qestions are as follows.

1) With my overclock, if i run memory to it's fastest (DDR 500) I estimate that the memory will be running at around 585 mhz. Therefore will DDR 500 be sufficent to cope with this overclock of 85mhz or should i just get 600 mhz speed memory to ensure it does?
2) In changing my memory, as my board supports 8 ghz, should i get 2 x 1 ghz sticks or 2 x 2 ghz sticks.
3) Could i run my existing DDR 400 memory in DIM 3 & 4, along with the new memory, or will this then run at the speed of my DIM 1 & 2 memory and therefore crash the system?
4) What memory would you suggest is good to buy for my solution?
5) Finally, how much speed difference will this make to my system considering i'm hitting 84,195 on Aquamark3 already? 2,000 increase or more?

Your help is always appreciated.

a couple things first. I'm going to assume that when you refer to having 2ghz memory you really mean you have 2gb.

second, if you plan on keeping your current OC then DDR500 will be more than sufficient as your htt of 246 actually translates to DDR492 so you'll be slightly underclocking your RAM.

Before we can really suggest some RAM for you we need to know more about your system. Please fill in specifics, including model numbers if possible. For example... you have an Abit board... what one? and what kind of RAM do you have? and how much? also, what are your psu specs?

Before you decide you definately need new RAM what do you have? maybe with some timing changes it will work at DDR500

and if you do get new RAM you'll most likely want to go w/ 2x1gb sticks of DDR500.

Sure thing,,

My system spec is as follows...

Jeantec 450 watt power supply in a X-Fire Case
AMD 4400+ (Toledo Core) Socket 939 2 x 1 mb L2 cash OC @ 2.7 GHz*
Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro processor cooler (29 deg idle & 44 deg load)
Abit AN8 SLI Socket 939 nForce 4 SLI PCI-E ATX motherboard with Real-tec 7.1 sound
2 x 1 GHz DDR 400 NCP Memory (running 2.5,3,3,6)
40 gb IDE IMB Deskstar & 80 gb IDE IBM Deskstar slave.
2 x DVD/CD writers
10cm rear exhaust fan, 10 cm front intake fan, 6cm side intake fan.
ATI Radeon X1800 XT - 512 memory, 1548 MHz Memory & 639 MHz Core
Twinhan DTV Digital + Analogue Free view TV Tuner PCI card
All running on Windows XP Professional with Windows Media Centre

* 11 x 246 multiplier, v-core 1.575, v-dimm 2.7, HHT x 4, memory running on 333MHz divider at actual 392 MHz as It is cheap memory and is unable to go over 400 MHZ without making the system unstable and fail the memory tests.

I have tried to overclock this memory with very lose timings and it will not happen; beleive me...

Your thoughts?

(Oh - i get 85195 score on Aquamark3 )

These are form a U.S. seller so you would have to try to find them near you.

But I would recommend
G.Skill
or
OCZ
or
Corsair

The G.skill's are the best overclockers of the 3 IMHO
