can it break my computer?
It's like any other software - as long as your temperatures and voltages are fine, folding won't cause a significant long term impact to your computer. Just be sure to keep an eye on your cooling.

relax mate. u have already started folding and ur contributing to the cause. you will soon see your folding figures just as soon as you complete your first WU (work unit). if u want that cool red gear which you should go and register yourself at folding home in oc.net. soon as u finish the wu and its updated u will receive the red gear icon (within 24 hours usually) cheers mate

Just let it run. It'll do the rest.

What is folding? Folding is a worldwide distributed computing effort conducted by Stanford University to understand how proteins assemble themselves. The real world applications of this research includes potential cures for diseases such as Alzheimer's, cancer, and Parkinson's. Nearly everyone's life has been touched by someone who has had one of these diseases or one of the many other diseases this research is aiming to cure. For more information, please see Stanford's Folding@Home website.
How can I join Overclock.net's team? Simply go here, download the program, and enter team number 37726 to start folding for our team. Post your folding name in this thread to receive the nifty folding icon in your postbit. This icon will appear approximately 24 hours after you have both completed your first work unit and have posted in that thread.

I personally leave HT enabled, but I only run one instance of the folding application. There's a FAQ linked in my sig as to why.

and can i pause it and turn off my computer and then continue???
cuz im getting a new mobo today or tommoro and i want to install it
post #10 of 18
yes you can pause it without any problems. u see the point where Taeric says post ur folding name in THIS THREAD, thats where u put ur folding name (if its different from dani). as soon as u finish 1 wu ur profile will be updated both in stanford database and here at oc.net.

if you read Taeric's FAQ u will get all ur answers. i got mine from there.
