Yea all cards that are goign to be made for now on will be PCI-e, the 7800GS is the last made AGP card ......i think that nvidia will ever make...but the x850xtpe beats the 7800GS, but anyways yes and the conroe cores will be nice, just want to see them match up against amd before i purchase around christmas time

conroe is intel's new core design, it should be sweet, they've begun taking a more amd like aproach to chips, going for efficiency and low wattage over high core speeds. and they'll be on the 65nm process, would should keep their temperatures low and allow for decent overclocks

I would say the 3800, or the x2 3800
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...TTR12=&ATTR13=

Vista is the new operating system and the direct x 10 video cards are going to be a lot more powerful than the direct x 9 cards

The Athlon X2 3800+ is $295 at NewEgg, and the Opteron 148 is about $250.

Cpu: spend the extra $$$ for the opteron 165
PSU: for the same price, the MGE Xg magnum
case: matter of opinion
HD: i would go Sata 3.0 (sata2)
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231032
Best ddr400 ram i have ever owned for the same price as that OCZ
Video card: a 6800gt for the same price would kill that x800gt
