What is the best, decent-priced HSF for socket A?

Not sure if its Socket A but it probably is, Thermaltake Big Typhoon, costs abut $49

I know that the Big T will fit, but they are HUGE, and I do not know how well it will fit.

Well what case do you have? The Big Typhoon is about 7 inches tall and you'll want another inch atleast for air to get into the fan

unless your mobo is elevated insanely far off the side, or you have a slimline case, you should be fine. But it doesn;t elevate 7 inches by any means.....

Try to get a HSF combo that will be useable with future sockets aka s939, so you when you upgrade you save 40$ish .

Just get what you can use later, honestly. Spend the extra few $ to get something you can keep for a while.
