Based on this review, I would say you would reach around 500MHz/1200MHz if everything goes well. If you overclock through NVIDIA's control panel, use "Detect Optimal Frequencies" and it will give you a good start.

Changing the cooling would moderately improve your overclocking speeds. This is a good aftermarket HSF for you to get: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835118117

I have heard that it keeps the 7800GT 50C at idle (compared to 60C using stock) and 70C at load.

that cooler has kept my 7800gt temps, at 40C idle, and 50C load. i've never seen it go above 50c.

Damn, my OEM cooler keeps my GPU at 45*C Idle high 50*C load

Putting on my NV Silencer today so hopefully I can keep the 516/1.12 OC I can get without getting artifacts in certain games. (TIger 06 goes nuts when it's this high)

I say you'll get between 485-510MHz depending on the chip btu at the higher speed you'll artifact (like me) and you'll need a better cooler
