Take pictures of your installation and we'll be sure to figure out anything on that end gone wrong.

Are you sure the PC has power to your CPU? As there was another post recently where a person had done a new build and did not connect is 8-pin power connector giving power to his CPU. Just asking for the sake of trying to help.

could it be because the dvi cables which came with the monitor only have like 15 pins when the graphic card has 24 pins? which is a dvi-i cable right??

Correct me if I'm wrong (someone) but:

15-Pin cables are VGA (analog) connections whereas a DVI is a 24-Pin cable that is digital.

Also, if for some reason the BIOS hard enters to onboard video even when you install a discrete graphics card and boot fist time, you may need to use the onboard video first to reset the BIOS to use the the card instead of onboard.

Can i use on board? With the gigabyte ud7 with the 5870 removed?? I got a feeling its the dvi cables, Because i got a white DVI cable with my monitor which is this one http://www.scorptec.com.au/computer/22907-dvi-dd5 and my monitor has a 24 pin, Why would they give me that cable??? Is that why do u think?? But why when i connect my laptop via VGA to my monitor , my monitor works fine?
