graphics cards.......so expensive........*has heart attack and dies*

ok, i need help. i need a good *COST EFFECIENT* graphics card, preferably along the lines or better than what i have now (see system specs).

There's the X1600XT. That's around $150. There's also the 6800GS, which is also around there.

nah, i don't think yall will make a poor decision. i ask yall cuz yall have more experience than i do.

but i think i have a little bit of an idea of what i want:

1. Something as good as/better than the ATI Radeon X600
2. but at the same time, not too overboard
3. something i can overclock
4. and hopefully around $120-$180 USD

edit--> on second thought, something with 256MB would be good too. and what is with the 8X and X16 i keep seeing on pcworld.com?

sorry for dbl post, but i have found a couple ones w/ 256MB and i need advice on them. here they are:

1. Radeon X300 SE Video Card (256MB, PCI-Express x16, 2D/3D w/ TV-Out) $58.34- $66.01
2. GeForce FX5500 Video Card (256MB, AGP 8X, DVI, 2D/3D w/ TV-Out) $59.99- $66.98
