nvidia 257.15 beta overscan/underscan feature

Thread Starter
Well, it seems Nvidia has kept their promise. Under the RESIZE DESKTOP category, there is a new feature. Now, its UNDERSCAN, OVERSCAN, and DO NOT REPORT.

I have tried it with a 9600gt and a Panasonic TH-50PX6U tv, with no luck.

Please, lemme know if anyone gets this to work or not.

I can't believe nobody is excited about them bringing back the option for under/ overscanning. Maybe no one realizes that this means no more wonky resolution, we can actually set to a true 1080....

Too funny. All the convos i've had, all the complaints i've heard, nobody posted here or has even made mention of the new overscan feature.

I don't think I have any underscan/overscan option on 257.15. Can you post a screenshot?

I do have the regular resize desktop which has always worked perfectly fine for me. I can fit the image perfect and it saves the setting as a new resolution to use.

resizing has been the problem. With the ati's you change the over/ underscan, and keep the 1080p reso. I'm looking for someone who has this working on an hdtv. this screen shot is from my desktop....

I don't think I get that option. I have a Sony 32" HDTV connected. I just get the resize desktop option which works perfect for me. My perfect resolution for my TV is 1674x974

try driver sweeper, then re install. Its that wonky reso that was tickin me off. mine was like 1840x1018 or sumptin. There's 4 options under that drop down.

It really doesn't matter that much if you have to resize...You still get the native 1920X1080, just has a wacky resolution through windows and NCP...It's still 1920X1080...If anything because of the resize the picture looks more crisp cause you are shrinking the picture to fit the panel. Now if you were stretching the picture to fit the screen, that sir would create problems...

edit: drivers are still in BETA

Hi...just came across your post while prodding thru Google. Ive been looking for a recommended driver to use with my HTPC setup and wasn't sure if the 257.15 beta would be worth the try, but under/overscan was a feature I wanted to find (came from using an ATi 4650). I'll try to give these betas a shot when I'm home in a few hrs and see if I can get under/overscan to work.

BTW I'm using a GT220 w/a Toshiba DLP HDTV.
