Folding is now available on nVidia 4xx GPUs.
Keep an eye on the main post, as I'll be updating it as more info is available.
8/9/200 series users: GPU3 will have lower PPD than GPU2. The GPU3 client may be more stable on your computer, and might lower inusage if the GPU is needed for another application, but if you have no issues with GPU2, you will get more PPD on it than GPU3.
Links available at source.
EDIT: Though Vijay has said not to use it on ATi GPUs, you can use it, and it will still download GPU2 WUs. Using this client means there is no need to add the -forcegpu ati_r700 flag for it to work on 5 series GPUs, and seems to keep the GPU at ~99% usage.
EDIT2: The FahCore_15 WUs (Project 10626/10627) have:
610/611pts, a Preferred Deadline of 2 days, and a Final Deadline of 3 days.
PPD:

This core is the first run of the GPU3 technology, derived from the OpenMM project at Stanford (http://simtk.org/home/openmm). You can find more information in our GPU3 FAQ (see url below).
While this release is for NVIDIA only to start, we are actively pushing ATI support (with the help of AMD/ATI), although we have no ETA at the moment. However, please do not use this client with an ATI GPU at the moment. This is the first open beta test of this new client and core, so there are likely bugs to be found as more donors try this out on more diverse sets of hardware. Also, the documentation (GPU3 FAQ) is new too and there are possibly some errors there too. However, the client has been QA'd both internally at Stanford and with our closed group of beta testers and is looking pretty good so far. Please post bugs or issues in the GPU section of this forum. |
