How much power do the new GTX465 use and what sort of ppd are they getting ?
GTX465 is pretty much a GTX275 with DX11 support so the power is around 200W VS 215w of the 470 and the PPD is estimate around 9k some overclock maybe 12k

9k stock is honestly disappointing considering a GTX275 will do that without issues with a slight OC. I was considering a 465, but with that PPD I'd be far better off with 2 more GTX260s

those values are speculations but stock it will be around that 9/9.5k since they are going to stick with gpu3 its a lot better 9k stock then 5/6k with a gtx260? cause gt200 gpu's loose a lot to gpuv3.... and the 465's OC quite well in reviews they are doing 780/790MHz core with those values they jump to 12/12.5k

Well I got my 480s folding now. One thing I noticed is that the second GPU client to get started up always drops down to 70-75% usage after a few seconds. Both cards do it, depending one which one I start first.

Does anyone know how to increase the usage or even stop the drop all together? I realize it's probably too early to say with this new client. But I'm over 50k PPD now, yay!

I haven't been folding steadily lately because I've had the rig dedicated to doing other things, but it's back to folding now!

edit:
Well scratch 50k. The new GPU3 client is much more CPU heavy than GPU2 is. The second GPU client throttled back even more to a little over 50% after I started up the bigadv in -smp 7. So it looks like I'll be at about 48k until they do some optimizing to make it use less CPU.

sounds like you need to set the priority of your GPU clients to "slightly higher".
go to configure -> advanced tab
you will see it in there.

If that doesn't work, try using prifinitty2 or similar program to manually set the process priority.

orly? I can fold on my GPU and CPU at the same time with no drop in PPD at all with GPU3. I couldn't do that with GPU2.

Use Process Lasso to adjust cpu priority for your FAH applications and regain 100% of your rigs theoretical PPD. It works wonders.

You are confusing the GTX 460(gf104) with the GTX 465(gf100). The GTX 460 only has 240 shaders, so it is basically an updated GTX275. The GTX 465 has 352 shaders, so should easily out perform a GTX 275.
