I heard it's a cheap dual core processor (running at 2.66 GHz) that overclocks like a mofo. If it can really overclock up to 3.7GHz like the Inquirer says, then I would certainly consider it.

Ive been able to OC my 820 over 1ghz from stock. And I wouldnt be suprised if its little brother could get just as far. They are great overclockers but they do run pretty darn warm so make sure your cooling is up to the task.

So what are your idle and load temps and what cooling are you using?
The palomino I use is hot enough I think but those things are even hotter I believe..
But they can get really hot I think before they get in trouble? ..

Hkepc said the 805 (20*133) could run at 20*166 24/7 without voltagechanges, that would be nice if it would run within reasonalbe temperatures..

Just an FYI in case you didn't know, but the Palomino core is the worst OCing chip AMD has made so far. (I have 4)

I would definately get the Intel dual core Well that one anyway as yes its a great overclocker but like said above i can see you will need better cooling as these CPU'S run rather warm.

heheh, I know .. and I haven't even tried to overclock it..

I only mentioned the palomino as a comparison to heat dissipation..

thanks anyhow

well, as I need a low-budget system I was thinking of getting the Asus P5P800 SE motherboard as it will be compatible in the future also if I want to get a D 9xx series processor sometime..
The main reason I'd go for this motherboard is that it's AGP .. My Radeon 9800 pro@xt still works well.
Anyways, the P5P800 SE uses the Intel 865PE chipset so I'd be able to use my current 2x256 & 1x 512 PC2700 dimms.

how does this sound? I don't know a lot about intel systems so please feel free to give advises

I use a Thermalright SK-7 + 2000rpm fan with my palomino..
I'd propably need to get a new heatsink as the SK-7 isn't compatible with socket 775 ..
The boxed cooler wouldn't be good enough you say? atleast not for overclocking propably.. ?
