The temperature of the coolant is adjusted via a software. If one does not do insulation, one must watch out for condensation because the temperature of the coolant can get well below ambient. As in the picture, you can see there is not much insulation and so I suspect Alienware has customized the CoolIT software in such a way to limit the lower bound of the coolant temperature to reduce the possibility of condensation.

So would you be able to use it just below ambient if you were to have all the Fans in the system pulling air out ? apart from the Tec pulling air in.

Whether or not such a unit can replace the current 2xGPU blocks, I think the idea is certainly do-able. But a deeper investigation has to be done.
Could you not have it so you hit Gpu's first then run to the RAD ( cooled further ) and then to your CPU ?

Yeah it could be put in a few differnet places through out w/c loop i suppose.

If i have to keep temp of the coolant at ambeint(to avoid condensation)then is there any point of adding one?

I do not quite understand what you meant.

Generally, these units should be able to breathe in fresh air and exhaust freely. Because the better ventilated its own heatsink, the more efficient the unit operates. So, I suppose you want to have a lot of fresh air going into the case to cool the heatsink, regardless how low/high you set the coolant temperature.

Yes, a radiator can only cool to ambient temperature and now below. So, if the coolant is cooled by the TEC to below ambient, the coolant will actually gain heat when it goes through the radiator.

But I suppose if you wish to play around and to maintain the coolant temp just around the ambient, then you can arrange the coolant first goes through the TEC (cooled below ambient) and then goes through the heat sources (warmed to above ambient temp) and then goes through the radiator (cooled down to close to ambient temp) and then goes through the TEC (to get below ambient again). This needs careful planning and could be a fun project.

Edit#1: there is usually a delta between ambient temperature and the dew point. It can be only a couple degrees C or as wide as 10C. So often enough, you can operate the coolant temperature below ambient but yet above the dew point. This eliminates both condensation problem and the need to insulate.

Hmmmm, not sure what my ambient is at the mo,but last 2 weeks has been very warm hence looking at this as an extra to keep down temps mabye?

Thanks for the help guys i feel a bit better informed and im gona follow this up tommorow with more investigating n stuff,im gona hit the sack now as ive only had about 4hours sleep in the last 2 days........
