Comp? Or Ram?

AMD 64 3200+

7800GT overclocked 480/1.17

RAM- Here is where i need help, i have an emachines T6212 (Not the best brand, i know) and it came with 512 ram installed 2x 256. I installed a 512 1x and it only showed a total of 768, but i thought it was the ram and just forgot about it. But now i got a new 1gb today and installed it and it shows a total of 1gb. So it is showing each as 256mb. I saw that there are two blue slots, which the original 2x 256 are in and then two black slots which the other dimms are in. I really need to know what the prob can be. I used to have a video card that shares memory but i think i uninstalled all its drivers. NEED HELP.

160 gb HD.

the two different colors are dual chnnel
remove the 256 sticks and try putting the 512 and the gig stick in opposite colors and then try turning on dual channel and putting them in the black ones

ALLWAYS OVERCLOCK with 2 sticks instead of 4

Try removing all of the sticks and installing one stick at a time, just to verify the size of each stick.

Put the 1GB and one 256 in the blue slots and the 512MB and the other 256 in the black slots and try that out. I dont know why you went with such random RAM sizes instead of ADDING RAM you should have gotten 2 1GB sticks and been done with it, but too late now, but for the future its always best to replace your RAM with all brand new sticks unless you absolutely cannot afford it.

What I'm saying is just install the sticks to find out if the BIOS is reading the total amount of RAM on each stick. If your BIOS reads all four as 256 you might have a BIOS issue.
