OCZ Phase - Page 2

wow if you guys really think about this, this is going to change overclocking forever, maybe even make water cooling a thing of the past. I mean $300 thats nothing if you have a job. thats like 65 hours at a minimum wage job ($5.25 minus taxes and the money that goes to that man named FICA)

I think the big thing that will scare off/prevent a lot of sales is that dylectic grease crap you have to put on there. That takes some pretty advance knowledge of computers to do properly and the average overclocker isn't willing to break it. I know I'm not. If they could make that process a bit easier, Sales would be a lot higher

unless they supply the instructions and a tube of grease and a can of silicone spray it will deter people for sure but in the end even if it is cheap and performs well it will still be vapour change and an extreme way of cooling your cpu for that little bit more grunt. We will al have to wait and see.

Compressors/phase run at 58% efficiency (max). A company has produced pelitiers that run around 65% effiency. I think that's where the future in cooling lies.

You are wrong... Water will still be used for GFX, chipset cooling, harddrive, and memory cooling. Many people will still use water for their processor as they will not want to have two independent cooling systems.

not to mention the extra cost of running the vapour change system.

um.......keep it plugged into the wall and there you go, just like having your refridgerator running for years on end. As long as your components are prepped for the cold usage you should be fine for a long time.
