Crossfire is about a year behind of Sli. Nvidia got the jump on the dual card setup. When crossfire has had a few months to a year of working it out i'm sure it will be as good. For now Sli has got more choices for hardware and is much more compatible.

Crossfire still has some kinks, but most who have actually tried it out have liked it alot.

Reviews say good things about it.

Sapphire makes a great motherboard for it (and is hopefully releasing another one soon). My DFI, while buggy at first, has proven to be a solid performer (but not crossfired yet). Helluva overclocker though.

there arent that many benefits to crossfire over SLi
crossfire can run cards for example X850 it can have 2 of any cards in the X850 class as long as one of them have the crossfire plug in.

but if you have a 7800 i dont see why you would switch nvidia performs better with higher settings i would stick with nvidia and SLi

SLI and CrossFire are close enough for it to be up to you do decide which brand you like more (or which card you already have) but SLI x16 beats CrossFire by up to 15% in some benches (only with higher end GPUs like 7800GTX 512MB does the SLIx16 show 10-15% improvement over regular SLI because most cards will not benefit from the extra bandwidth unless you use 2560x1600 or some crazy resolution
