While it may appear to be the same info posted twice, it is the entire contents of the (just copied) log file...
Right... it looks like you let it get to the "Connecting" line, then manually closed the client?

Is the "workaround" 100% necessary? I'm on my 2nd or 3rd SMP WU (w/o bigadv, only running on a C2D E6550), and I haven't noticed any problems.

It's needed for Ubuntu v10.04; other versions won't need it.

When Ubuntu upgraded to v10.04, you couldn't initialise FahCore_a3 (I think that was the issue); this workaround fixed it. It's possible that an update to Ubuntu has removed the necessity for the workaround. I'll reinstall Ubuntu tomorrow and try myself.

Ok. Well I don't see the need to reinstall Ubuntu just for this one fix, even if it's not needed there could be other people who haven't installed 10.04 recently, so it's a cover all, for those who installed on the brink of release, and others who didn't.

Unless you just want to reinstall for the fun of it.

Well, I don't use Ubuntu. I only installed it for these guides. So if something's changed, I better go test it.

Good guide, I successfully got the a3 core running and whatnot. However, I was wondering: why do you choose to have the user install mono and all that when Fahmon is open source and available for Linux? Does HFM do things better?
