Ok guys so sorry for the late replies. I've been busy turning 21 and I've been capped for the last, well... way too long!

BTW where is that field, it seems strangely familiar
If you haven't been to my house in central NSW, its not familiar. That said theres canola everywhere this time of year I'm sure.

I'm saving up for an SSD, second 24" monitor and a 5850 so don't have heaps of cash to spare for the modding side of things but they're all the most important upgrades I can make atm so gotta try to do it!
Sounds good anyhow. Plz do let me know when the modding begins again!

I always wanted to do this thing you're doing with the loop going through the acrylic but have always been concerned that a rad in a tight spot like that might transfer too much heat. Then Syrillian told me something about acrylic & polycarbs that I think I forgot a few years back.....
So I'm anxious to see how this works out.

Also been wondering, now that we're in the house. I have like 15ft of tubing left & always wondered about running it under the floor of the house. If this project works & the acrylic isn't a heat or OTH, a cold trap I might jump into externalizing a rad with on/ off valves. FOB, ever experiment with anything like that, or know someone who has? On / off valves specifially.
I'm not sure what will happen with the tubes running through the acrylic but I seriously doubt it will cause any issues. If it does though, I'll post them here.

As for externalising the rad, I've never done anything of the sort and therefore have no experience with that. I don't know of anyone who has either. Sorry I can't be of more help! Oh and please do continue that story of yours!

Painting (part 1) -

So a couple weeks ago I started painting. The weathers been crazy since then with hot days then freezing the next. Anyway, heres some pics to show that something even though not much is happening.

On the line and ready to spray with primer. First I sanded each piece with some fine sandpaper which will help the paint stick.

First layer of primer is on. I'm using Dulux metal primer for this. Even on the acrylic.

Some days later...

The final coats are on. I did 4 coats of the primer over 3 or 4 days. 2 on the first day then left them for a day to dry, then lighly sanded before adding another 2 coats. After another day in the sun drying I'm ready to add some paint.

Unfortunately I only had one can of black so until I get more, I can't finish painting. I didn't get any shots of those few pieces painted either but I do have one of the case as it is at the moment.

Hopefully I can get it back on the clothes line soon!

Happy 18th for not long ago!

Now because it may be a few weeks before I can finish painting my case as the particular paint I'm using is out of stock everywhere, I'm going to temporarily set up the hardware in another case and the water gear on my desk so I can use it for the time being. I miss it!

More on that later but heres just a rough shot showing my possible stupidity.

Stay tuned for more of it!
