Computer dead?

Hey, I have a p4 1.4 ghz computer laying around, and theres a problem with it. Recently, I toke some parts out of it to put into my new 3 ghz computer. However, the 1.4 ghz one is now dead for some reason.

In the process of scavenging parts, I removed my 8500 ati card, and put in a 64 meg one, as well as a pci slot video card, and a stick of sd ram. When I try to boot the computer, it doesnt load anything at all.

So I tried putting back all the parts i removed, and it still doesnt work. The cpu hsf is running, as is videocard fans. Does anyone know what may be the cause of the problem I have?

the only thing i could think of is you fried something because i fried my motherboard with static electricity and the fans ran but nothing worked.

when you say removing parts, what did you remove? removing things from the motherboard can be dangerous if your not extremely careful. I'll have to go with hitman with this one, you probably fried something. Because i don't think you can take any parts off of a processor.

Is there RAM still left in the computer? Try it w/ just the 8500. Any beeps? Double check all your connectors and MAKE SURE THE CARDS/RAM ARE IN ALL THE WAY. Sometimes their just not in 100%.

It's pretty card to break a component. You either have to have just socks on, scrapping your feet on some very staticy carpet, then w/ out touching the case at all touch a component. Another way is to scratch a component, or bend a capacity or something.

no theres is two power cords thats go into the motherboard. One has like twenty little points on the end of it. Then the other has four wich is 14v. If you dont have it plugged in then i will make a faint sound. Both of the cords come from the power supply just to let u know.
