Best $100 Headphones - Page 2

I would suggest the A700 simply for being OUTRAGEOUSLY comfortable. Not the best bass I have heard, but they are very clear.

Definitely a better buy that my Auzen Forte, even as a heavy gamer.

As the saying goes: feces with sprinkles is still feces.

I'm just trolling. Whatever floats your boat.

And as far as comfort, my A900s are insanely comfortable, and I imagine the A700s are a very similar feel. Pleather pads with a ton of cushion that never get heavy, tight, or uncomfortable in any way. Leaps and bounds ahead of my Grados in the comfort department, for sure.

Oh you.

My Alessandro are more comfortable than my AD700 were (they be gone nao!), but I have some custom earpads and the BeyerDynamic headband.

I do love AD700 pads on my RX700 though. It reduces the bass bloat a little, and makes it nice and detailed in the bass/low mids and also much more comfortable.

Oh, and guys.

STOP RECOMMENDING THE HD555; IT'S AN OPEN CAN AND HE WANTS CLOSED CANS. JEEZ.

Shure SRH 440s
Sony MDR-V6/Sony MDR-7506

Both pairs of headphones are under $100 and you will love both of them. They suit your music tastes perfectly: good bass, closed, and balanced. You can go to head-fi.org and ask for more recommendations and advice. But trust me, Shure 440s and Sony MDR-V6s are the best headphones that you can get in the sub-$100 price range (the Alessandro and Grado headphones that are under $100 are also very good, but they are open and do not suit your music).

Do NOT get Sennheiser HD 555s. They are great headphones, but they do not suit your music tastes. They are more for classical music, open, and have a very weak bass. However, they are still great for classical music/singing.

Outside of that, think Audio Technica M50 or Shure SRH440; get the M50 if you want a little more bass.

Note: I have owned the SRH440 and modded HA-RX700 and I vastly prefer the modded RX700.

Do you understand what he wants?

I like this guy.

People seem to recommend the AD700/HD555 for "all 'round" headphones, but they're frankly awful for that.

Like he said, they only really excel at classical/acoustical music.
